In April 2016 I experienced significant vision loss in my good eye and could not access Blogger.  A year later and many experiences later I started to regain some vision back.  I am not going to slowly take the posts I shared on Facebook and bring them here as I return to posting on here.  I hope to share more about my experience with vision loss and learning to adapt.  Thanks for joining me in this journey called life.

I love all that nature can teach me. And today that is that I need to write about my reflections and not wait for the perfect timing, picture, inspiration or exciting story. It's nice to simply snap a picture of my daily nature fix and share what it meant. Today I was invited to explore a new path near my sister's in Texas with my niece and nephew. It was undeveloped and other than a few signs if human visitors, was left raw. I had learned the area, Stillhouse Hollow Lake, which is actually a river, had flooded several years ago then followed by a fire. What was left was an atypical shoreline. It was beautiful though. It brings peace to be out in nature's raw beauty, untamed, just her being herself. She doesn't try to be anything she's not. We too could learn to be more like that. Simplifying your life begins with you, stripping away the things you're trying to be or the people you're trying to impress. Then the friends you have will be genuine.
